Our Story

For 53 years Home Security Service, LLP has been serving Vermont and Southern New Hampshire by installing and maintaining several alarm types in homes and businesses. Back in 1969 Richard Alexander and his wife Lorraine decided that it was time for Richard to put his 13 year career of being a Vermont State Trooper behind him and start catching burglars instead of chasing them. Soon after his graduation from High School, Richard’s son, Tim started helping his dad on a full time basis. After Richard’s death in 1997 Tim took over the company and it has continued to grow. With help from his sister Linda during the late 90’s and early 2000’s and now with his son, “Tim 2” on board since his graduation in 2005, (and co-owner since 2015) HSS has over 630 actively monitored alarm systems everywhere from Dublin, NH to S. Burlington, VT and has helped catch over 300 burglars!

We at Home Security Service, LLP install and maintain nothing but high quality, State-Of-The-Art hardwired and wireless alarm systems. We aren't a cable company, cell phone provider, electrical contractor, home theater installation company, or lock smith that dabbles in alarm systems every now and then... We work with security systems everyday and have been doing it since 1969. Our systems can monitor for burglaries, fires, high or low temperatures, flooding, dangerous levels of Carbon Monoxide, personal panic or medical buttons and much more! We also install a variety of security camera systems. Don’t be fooled by the fancy ads on TV for all the big nationwide alarm companies that will sell you an alarm system for $99… What they don’t tell you is the outrageous fees you’ll have to pay for their monitoring service and then you'll have to sign a contract for a 3 or 4 year service agreement. That’s not the case with Home Security Service, we use a Vermont based, family owned, U.L. Rated Central Station that offers professional full monitoring services 24 hours a day 365 days a year for one low yearly price. We don't lock our customers into any longterm contracts. We sell you the alarm system, install and maintain it for you. You're free to cancel your monitoring service at any time. Simple as that.
